The MDS-PAS School for Young Neurologists is an interactive teaching course for theoretical and practical education, with an access to patients with a wide variety of movement disorders. The course includes plenary lectures on many topics of movement disorders, smaller interactive parallel sessions, hands-on examination of patients, video case presentations and an introduction to the latest treatment modalities. Previous editions of the “School for Young Neurologists” have been held in Europe and South America. Reports show that they have been extremely successful and highly influential for young neurologists.
At the conclusion of this activity, you should be able to accomplish the following:
Diagnosis on common movement disorders;
Design, review and modify a patient management plan
Examine a patient with a movement disorder
Provide a comprehensive differential diagnosis on movement disorders patients
Present a movement disorders case history.
This course is intended for residents, fellows and young neurologists in practice and academic positions who are interested in movement disorders.
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society designates this educational activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
