MDS-PAS School for Young Neurologists
The third MDS-PAS School for Young Neurologists took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, September 11-13, 2014.
Young neurologists who were interested in training in the field of Movement Disorders, as well as those who already have had some experience in Movement Disorders, were taught by an MDS-PAS international faculty of senior Movement Disorders specialists.
Day 1 focused on Hypokinetic Disorders and included examinations of patients with such disorders.
Day 2 focused on Hyperkinetic Disorders and participants were able to not only examine patients, but also to participate in a Botulinum Toxin Workshop in which they were able to observe experts examining a patient and administering Botulinum Toxin. On this day students also shared their own patient videos with their fellow participants.
Day 3 continued discussion of Hyperkinetic Disorders and included a review of the course.
Registration will be capped at 48 students.
At the conclusion of the workshop participants were able to:
Examine a patient with a movement disorder
Reach a diagnosis on straightforward movement disorders cases
Propose a differential diagnosis on more complex movement disorders patients
Present a movement disorders case history
Design, review and modify a patient treatment plan
Young neurologists within five years of their completion of general neurological training who are interested in specializing in Movement Disorders and young neurologists who are already training in Movement Disorders.
