Submit an Abstract by January 7, 2013!
The Movement Disorder Society invites all MDS Members and Non-Members to submit an abstract for review for the 17th International Congress in Sydney, Australia, June 16-20, 2013. For more information, go to the abstract submission website.
There is no fee to submit an abstract. All abstract submissions must be original research. Abstracts that have been presented at other meetings may be submitted if they have not been published and if the meeting name and date are cited accordingly. Please do not submit an abstract if you are not prepared to travel to the International Congress to present your research. The abstract submission deadline is January 7, 2013.

Submit a Letter of Intent for the MDS Video Challenge
This LOI should give a brief summary of the case, a description of what the video will demonstrate and a statement about why the case is unique or of sufficient interest to be selected. For more information on the MDS Video Challenge, please visit the website.
Apply for a Travel Grant by January 11, 2013!
The Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is offering up to 100 travel grants of a maximum amount of $2,000 USD each in partial support of International Congress delegates in financial need to facilitate their travel to and participation in the 17th International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders in Sydney, Australia, June 16-20, 2013.
International Congress registration fees will be waived for all travel grant recipients, and the amount of each travel grant given will be determined by the Awards Committee, based on criteria including the applicant's location in relation to the 2013 International Congress.The deadline to submit the official Online Travel Grant Application is January 11, 2013. Successful awardees will be notified at the end of February, 2013. Click here for more information or to apply.

Submit Your Video Case to the 2013 Case of the Month Competition!
MDS is excited once again invite Regional Section members (AOS, ES and PAS) to participate in the second annual Case of the Month Competition.
How the competition works
The Case of the Month Competition officially gets under way this month. Any entry submitted on the MDS website between January 1 and April 1, 2013 will qualify to be entered into the competition. After all cases are received and processed by the MDS Secretariat, the Regional Chairs for AOS, ES, and PAS will be sent the cases for viewing.
Two video case entries from each Region will be selected and sent to the Web Editorial Board for final judging. Finalists will be notified by email in mid-May. First, second, and third place winners will be announced at the 17th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders in Sydney next June.
The first-place winner will receive an Amazon Gift Card that can be used to purchase books on the MDS/Amazon E-Store. All finalists will receive an Award Certificate and have their cases featured on the MDS Website throughout the year following the International Congress.
