LOI Submission Process for The 4th Annual VO Games Is Now Open! To submit your case for possible presentation at the 4th Annual VO Games during the 15th International Congress in Toronto, please submit your Letter of Intent. This LOI should give a brief summary of the case, a description of what the video will demonstrate and a statement about why the case is unique or of sufficient interest to be selected. The LOIs are due on January 18, 2011.

2011 Congress Abstract Submission - Abstract Submission is now open for the 15th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders. The deadline for submission is January 7, 2011. Please refer to the Congress website for information.

Travel Grant Applications due January 8, 2011 - MDS is offering up to 100 travel grants of a maximum amount of $1,000 USD each in partial support of International Congress delegates in financial need to facilitate their travel to and participation in the 15th International Congress in Toronto, Canada, June 5-9, 2011. The deadline for all applications is January 8, 2011. Please visit the Congress website for more information.

This month we are honored to partner with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institutes of Health in highlighting an important initiative of developing a standardized data collection across clinical research studies in Parkinson's disease.

On behalf of nearly 70 international experts that helped develop the Parkinson’s Disease Common Data Elements (PD CDE), Dr. Wendy Galpern, Program Director of Clinical Trials, appeals to the Movement Disorders scientific community in providing feedback on the international committee’s recommendations. Your feedback will be greatly appreciated in a landmark NIH-initiative. 14th International Congress on Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders - Update on Dystonia Webcast 
Webcast course covering the spectrum of dystonias, providing insight into diagnosis and treatment from the Congress held in Buenos Aires, Argentina on June 14, 2010.

De Novo Parkinson's Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment Based on an MDS sponsored course held at the University of Lisbon Faculty of Medicine in Lisbon, Portugal. This course covered topics including natural history of PD, diagnosing PD, disease modifying strategies in PD, and management of non-motor problems in early PD. Intended for general neurologists, geriatricians and general practitioners.
