Abstract Submission Deadline – January 7, 2013!
The Movement Disorder Society invites all MDS Members and Non-Members to submit an abstract for review for the 17th International Congress in Sydney, Australia, June 16-20, 2013. For more information, go to the abstract submission website.
There is no fee to submit an abstract. All abstract submissions must be original research. Abstracts that have been presented at other meetings may be submitted if they have not been published and if the meeting name and date are cited accordingly. Please do not submit an abstract if you are not prepared to travel to the International Congress to present your research. The abstract submission deadline is January 7, 2013.

Letter of Intent Submission for the 6th Annual MDS Video Games Now Open!
This LOI should give a brief summary of the case, a description of what the video will demonstrate and a statement about why the case is unique or of sufficient interest to be selected. For more information on the MDS Video Games, please visit the website.
Deadline for Travel Grants: January 11, 2013
The Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is offering up to 100 travel grants of a maximum amount of $2,000 USD each in partial support of International Congress delegates in financial need to facilitate their travel to and participation in the 17th International Congress of Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders in Sydney, Australia, June 16-20, 2013.
International Congress registration fees will be waived for all travel grant recipients, and the amount of each travel grant given will be determined by the Awards Committee, based on criteria including the applicant's location in relation to the 2013 International Congress.The deadline to submit the official Online Travel Grant Application is January 11, 2013. Successful awardees will be notified at the end of February, 2013. Click here for more information or to apply.

Updates on Huntington's Disease
MDS is pleased to present an update on Huntington's Disease with three guest articles.
The first is contributed by Juliana Bronzova, MD, DSc, Science Director for the European Huntington's Disease Network (EHDN). She provides an update on the scope of the group's work, including the areas of Science, Clinical Research, and Care. Read the article.
Next, we hear from Louise Vetter, CEO of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, who provides an overview of this important organization’s activities and objectives. Read the article.
Finally, MDS member William Fernandez-Escobar, MD, Head, Movement Disorders Unit, Universidad Nacional de Colombia-Bogotá shares his insights about Huntington’s after attending the 7th Plenary meeting of the EHDN which was held September 14-16, 2012, in Stockholm, Sweden. Read the article.
Video Case of the Month:
In this edition we feature the Third Place Winner of the 2012 Case of the Month Regional Section Competition. The video case, submitted by Yi-Cheng Tai, MD, and Ruey-Meei Wu, MD, PhD, Taiwan (Asian-Oceanian Section), is entitled, "A Taiwanese woman presents with involuntary movement of the right upper limb and motor disability of the left upper limb."
