Course Description
This course addressed the clinical and surgical treatment of Parkinson's disease. Emphasis was placed on the management of patients with early stage illness, treatment of non-motor symptoms of PD and management of levodopa complications.
Learning Objectives
Participants in this activity learned to:
- Discuss the therapeutic options available to manage Parkinson's disease (PD) patients with early stage illness;
- Tailor the best medical options to treat fluctuations and dyskinesias related to chronic exposure to levodopa;
- Identify and treat non-motor symptoms of PD;
- Select PD patients who are candidates for surgical treatment.
