Hubert FernandezHubert H. Fernandez, MD
Hubert H. Fernandez is Associate Professor of Neurology, Director of Clinical Trials for Movement Disorders, Co-Director of the Movement Disorders Program, and Program Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program and Movement Disorders Fellowship Training Program, all at the University of Florida. He received his medical degree in the Philippines, and completed his neurology residency at Boston University and a postgraduate fellowship in movement disorders at Brown University.

Dr. Fernandez is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology (also Executive Board Member of its Movement Disorders Section) and an active member of several professional societies, including the American Neurological Association, The Movement Disorder Society (also a member of the Scientific Issues Committee; Chair of the Task Force on Psychosis Scales), and the Florida Society of Neurology (also an Executive Board Member and the President-Elect). He is an active participant of several consortiums of academic clinical trial investigators such as the Parkinson Study Group (also Co-Chair of the Functional Neurosurgical Working Group), Dystonia Study Group (also a member of the Executive Board), and the Huntington Study Group. Dr. Fernandez's work has been published in 3 books, 2 dozen book chapters, and over 100 abstracts. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed clinical publications on Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, including long-term care, drug therapy and the non-motor aspects of PD, especially behavioral and cognitive dysfunction. He is currently in the Editorial Board of Movement Disorders and Clinical Neuropharmacology, and is an ad hoc reviewer for more than a dozen peer-reviewed journals, including New England Journal of Medicine, Neurology, Annals of Neurology, Parkinsonism and Related Disorders, Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, Journal of Clinical Psychiatry, and European Journal of Neurology. Dr. Fernandez has initiated or participated in over three dozen single-center and multi-center clinical trials.

Marcelo MerelloMarcelo J. Merello, MD, PhD
Born in Argentina in 1961, Marcelo J. Merello graduated from the School of Medicine, Buenos Aires University in 1987, where he also later finished his PhD. He completed Residency Training in both Internal Medicine and Neurology. He did a Research Fellowship in Neurology at the National Hospital for Nervous Diseases and was a Registrar in Neurology at the Middlesex Hospital, both in London. Currently, he is the head of the Movement Disorders Section at the Raul Carrea Institute for Neurological Research (FLENI) in Buenos Aires and is the Director of Neuroscience in the same institute. He holds a faculty appointment at the University of Buenos Aires and is Professor of Neurology at the UCES.

He has co-authored over 80 papers in leading peer review journals in our field, and he has written more than 10 book chapters. He co-edited "New trends in Parkinson's Disease Treatment" with Professor Andrew J. Lees, and is the author of "Psychiatric Complications of Parkinson's Disease" for Cambridge University Press. He has been a member of the Editorial Board of Movement Disorders, and is currently editor of Archives of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry (ARG). In addition to being the Co-Medical Editor of the Movement Disorder Society website, Dr. Merello also serves as a distinguished member of the International Executive Committee of The Movement Disorder Society and act as an ad hoc reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals.
