Welcome to the December/January edition of the MDS website and Happy Holidays!

We are honored to partner with the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) and the National Institutes of Health in highlighting an important initiative of developing a standardized data collection across clinical research studies in Parkinson's disease.

On behalf of nearly 70 international experts that helped develop the Parkinson's Disease Common Data Elements (PD CDE), Dr. Wendy Galpern, Program Director of Clinical Trials, appeals to the Movement Disorders scientific community in providing feedback on the international committee's recommendations. Looking ahead to the new year, we will be expanding our popular Case of the Month and Quick Opinion Please features to now also include Case Reports submitted for publication to Movement Disorders that are deemed of significant interest to the members of our Society by the Editors and Reviewers of both Movement Disorders and the MDS Website. Look for this new feature to debut on the website in 2011. To view this edition's case, click here.

From the Online Medical Co-Editors, Web Manager, Web Staff and Web Editorial Board of your Award Winning MDS Website, we would like to wish all of you, our colleagues and friends around the globe, a joyous and peaceful holiday season and a bright new year!
