17th International Congress - AOS Update
Sydney June 2013 International Congress Update
It is hard to believe but the Sydney Congress is only three months away! Registration is well and truly open and over 1300 abstracts have been accepted for presentation.
For recent articles on Program Highlights by Prof David Burn, Chair of the Congress Scientific Program Committee, and Sydney Highlights from the Congress Local Organising Committee, see Highlights of the 17th International Congress in Sydney.
This is only the second time the MDS International Congress has been held in Asia, the first being the wonderful meeting in Kyoto in 2006 chaired by Prof Yoshi Mizuno. There will be a strong Faculty representation at the Sydney Congress from the MDS Asian-Oceanian section. Neurologists and neuroscientists in our region have made major contributions to the theme of the Congress - Clinicopathological Correlations in Movement Disorders - as well as clinical, genetic, pathological and neurophysiological discoveries in other major areas highlighted during the meeting such as dystonia and the relationship between myoclonus and epilepsy. Topics of special interest to the region will include Movement disorders in Asia-Oceania (Video Session) and Regional atypical parkinsonian syndromes (Parallel Session).
The Asian-Oceanian Section is a growing part of MDS. The Congress Local Organising Committee extends a warm welcome to our Asian-Oceanian colleagues and encourage you to support our Section by attending the Sydney Congress. The International Congress is considered by the MDS to be one of its most important activities. One of the major criteria by which the success of the Congress will be judged will be attendance, and success will encourage further meetings to be held in our region. We hope to see you in Sydney in June!
