Course Description
The 2013 Summer School for Young Neurologists will take place in London, Queen Square, United Kingdom, July 26-28, 2013. Young neurologists, who are interested in training in the field of Movement Disorders, as well as those who already have some experience in Movement Disorders, will be taught by an MDS-ES international faculty of senior Movement Disorder specialists.
The Summer School course design uses several educational methods. Students will attend large lectures and panel discussions with question and answer sessions, will be involved in group presentations and case discussions, will work with movement disorders patients and present their own case-study videos. For the 2013 Summer School the topics will focus on hypo- and hyperkinetic disorders as well as simple and complex patient management issues.
Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the workshop participants should be able to:
- Examine a patient with a movement disorder
- Reach a diagnosis on straightforward movement disorders cases
- Propose a differential diagnosis on more complex movement disorders patients
- Present a movement disorders case history
- Design, review and modify a patient treatment plan
Recommended Audience
This course is recommended for young neurologists within five years of their completion of general neurological training who are interested in specializing in movement disorders and young neurologists who are already training in movement disorders.
