MDS-AOS Educational Needs Survey

The Movement Disorder Society – Asian and Oceanian Section (MDS-AOS) would like to invite you to participate in the  MDS-AOS Educational Needs Survey. This short survey will assess the current educational needs within the Asian and Oceanian regions, in efforts of providing enhanced educational opportunities to the medical communities with regards to Movement Disorders. The Movement Disorder Society appreciates your feedback.  Thank you for your time and cooperation.

Educational Course Sponsorship Program

The MDS Asian and Oceanian Section is pleased to announce the opening of its Educational Course Sponsorship Program.

The MDS-AOS recognizes that some regions do not have access to trained Movement Disorder Specialists and are restricted by size and/or resources from establishing a training program.

This program is designed to address the needs of those regions and to build rapport with local area societies that have no existing relationship with MDS.  It is intended to support three course formats: a stand-alone course, courses conjoined with other local/regional meetings, and consecutive courses

For application requirements and more information, please see "Policies and Guidelines for the Implementation of Educational Courses" pdf.

Asian and Oceanian Section Objectives

The mission of MDS-AOS is to represent and promote The Movement Disorder Society (MDS) in Asia and Oceania. Membership of MDS-AOS is open to all members of MDS within the Asian and Oceanian region. All those with an interest in the field of Movement Disorders, who live within the region, are strongly encouraged to join the Society and thereby participate in the development of this venture. The MDS Web site lists the various membership categories available.

MDS-AOS aims to facilitate communication between clinicians and researchers in the region; disseminate updated knowledge about Movement Disorders; improve quality of life and independence of Movement Disorders patients and caregivers; and promote research in Movement Disorders within the region.

To achieve these aims, the section has organized a biennial regional meeting and regional educational programs targeted toward Movement Disorder specialists, general neurologists, researchers, academics, allied health professionals, medical trainees and others living and working in Asia and Oceania with an interest in the field of Movement Disorders.

The MDS-AOS is holding the 2nd Asian and Oceanian Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Congress (AOPMC), from February 15-17, 2009 in New Delhi, India. For additional information, please visit the meeting Web site at: www.aopmcindia.com, or send an e-mail to: info@aopmcindia.com.
