Dear Colleagues,
Welcome to the MDS-ES Section of the MDS Website. The mission of The Movement Disorder Society-European Section (MDS-ES) is to represent and promote The Movement Disorder Society (MDS) and its mission in Europe.
MDS-ES is responsible for a number of activities which are unique to Europe. Firstly, our Movement Disorders educational programming is targeted specifically for the needs of our members in Europe. We are delighted to support our neurology colleagues in Eastern Europe, where the sub-specialty of Movement Disorders is in its infancy, by providing Invited Lecturers and Teaching Courses. Movement Disorders teaching for general neurologists is provided through our formal collaboration with the European Federation of Neurological Societies. A collaboration with the European Union of Geriatric Medicine Specialists has enabled us to bring Movement Disorders teaching to our geriatrician colleagues. MDS-ES collaborated with the EFNS on the development of European Guidelines on Parkinson’s Disease, and Dystonia.
If you are an MDS member resident in Europe you are automatically a member of the European Section, and entitled to vote for our Executive Committee and Officers. Please do participate in all our activities – your voice is very important to us!
