Course Purpose

This interactive module is designed to help inpatient RNs, LPNs, pharmacists, house officers, and hospitalists follow medication administration techniques known to reduce complications for the hospitalized patient with Parkinson’s Disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Identify medications that can lead to a worsening or exacerbation of symptoms, prolonging the hospital stay of patients with Parkinson’s disease

2. Administer appropriate medications on time, every time, to the hospitalized patient with Parkinson's disease

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for inpatient RNs, LPNs, pharmacists, house officers, and hospitalists who work with patients with movement disorders. 

Hardware and Software Requirements

1. Active Internet connection (DSL or Cable). Dial-up connection will have constant buffering problem.

2. Compatible with Windows PC and MAC (256 MB of RAM or higher)

3. Activity is best viewed on Internet Explorer 9.0 or higher, Safari 5.0 or higher and Firefox 29.0 or higher
