The MDS Presidential Perspective: Treating Parkinson's Disease: Past, Present and Future - Presented by Prof. Werner Poewe webinar will review the evolution of PD therapies from the beginnings in the 19th century to current state of the art management. Evolving therapies aiming for optimized symptomatic control and disease modification will also be covered.

The primary purpose of this webinar is to provide information on treating Parkinson's disease.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners will be able to:
1. Understand the history and current role of L-Dopa in the treatment of Parkinson's disease
2. Have an overview of the milestones and current developments in the symptomatic management of Parkinson's disease
3. Appreciate novel targets for disease modification in Parkinson's disease

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for medical students, residents, senior neurologists, movement disorder fellows, and allied health professionals.

Accreditation Credit

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society designates this education activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
