MDS-ES Emergency Fellowships

Support for trainees from Ukraine whose clinical training has been disrupted by the ongoing conflict.

Main Content

In response to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the MDS European Section (MDS-ES) with the support of the MDS Officers seek to provide immediate support for trainees displaced due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Application Requirements - Program Parameters and Criteria

To apply for the Emergency Fellowship Program, trainees must submit a completed Emergency Fellowship Application

Completed applications will include:

  • Statement of training needs
  • Duration of fellowships: Requests for up to 6 months will be considered with an opportunity to review and renew
  • Funding request: Outline of anticipated monthly expenses
  • Training program and host details: Applicants who have identified the location of their training prior to submitting their application given priority.  However, applicants will have the option to request assistance with identifying a host in their application.

Applicants will be able to upload their brief CV and, if applicable, an acknowledgment letter or statement from their agreed Host.

Host Sites

MDS-ES is actively collating a list of Host Centers accepting emergency fellowships.

If you have a training coordinated with a center that is not on this list, please include the contact information.

Application Evaluation & Review

Applications are assessed based on geographic location and MDS Membership status with additional considerations for the degree to which the applicant statement of needs aligns with available program funds.

Subgroup of MDS-ES Education Committee and Executive Committee members will review applications against program criteria. Responses to applicants anticipated within ten (10) business days of confirmed submission.

Application Deadline

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis for as long as there is continued need.
