The 11th MDS-PAS School for Young Neurologists takes place November 22-24, 2019 in Panama City, Panama.Course Description

The goal is to increase general enthusiasm for movement disorders as an exciting discipline in the field of neurology, and to raise the level of expertise such that students will be able to better manage their patients in clinical practice. We welcome a range of familiarity with movement disorders. Some students have little experience with movement disorders and would like to improve their comfort level and approach and other students intend to focus their practice on movement disorders and wish to learn at a higher level. Both groups will find the School valuable and enjoyable. Attendance to the school is based on an application acceptance.

Course Highlights:

  • A mixture of didactic lectures with videos, small group student case presentations and a video dinner where faculty will discuss “Training of botulinum toxin application”
  • Guided live patient examinations with a variety of movement disorders
  • Students will each submit a patient video case of their own as the course approaches to present in small groups
  • How to visually recognize and classify movement disorders; parkinsonism; hyperkinetic movement disorders (such as chorea, dystonia, myoclonus, tremor); and ataxia.
  • The emphasis on active learning, with direct examination of patients and videos, will help you learn movement disorders principles very quickly
