Course DescriptionThe MDS-AOS 2nd School for Young Neurologists will take place in Kuwait City, Kuwait, December 10-11, 2019.

The MDS-AOS 2nd School for Young Neurologists is an opportunity for young neurologists who are interested in specializing in Movement Disorders to receive in-depth instruction from internationally-recognized Movement Disorders experts. Students will attend large lectures and panel discussions with question and answer sessions, examine patients with movement disorders, and engage in a differential diagnosis with the international experts. Students will present their own case-study videos to small groups for discussion and critique, and will be involved in group presentations and case discussions. Topics will focus on Parkinsonism, hyperkinetic disorders and complex issues in movement disorders.

The aim is for a Middle Eastern and Asian audience with a particular focus on supporting young neurologists from the Middle East and AOS region.

A working knowledge of English is required as well as a working knowledge of the diagnosis and general management of various movement disorders.

Learning Objectives
  • Examine a patient with a movement disorder
  • Reach a diagnosis on non-complex movement disorders cases
  • Propose a differential diagnosis of a complex movement disorders patients
  • Design, review and modify a patient treatment plan
     
Recommended Audience

This course is intended for young neurologists within five years of their completion of general neurological training who are interested in specializing in movement disorders as well as young neurologists who are already training in movement disorders.

MDS is able to provide participants with a Letter of Support and any course-related documentation needed to assist in obtaining a visa. Member: $200 USD
MDS Junior/Waived Dues Member: $100 USD
Non-Member: $300 USD

Registration includes entrance to all sessions, course materials, catering, and 1-year associate membership for eligible non-members. 

Registration may be cancelled up until 2 weeks before the course, minus a $25 USD cancellation fee.  After this time, the registration fee is nonrefundable.
