Assessment of Functional Movement Disorders in Clinical Practice

In this session the faculty will present practical tips and clinical expertise for identifying functional movement disorders as isolated motor symptoms, as well as in the context of persons with a known movement disorder. Faculty will also discuss the clinical approach and the use of other diagnostic tools such as imaging and neuropsychological tests. Select clinical video examples will be presented from MDS’ call for submissions.

  2. Recognize functional features in patients with other movement disorders
  3. Formulate a diagnostic debriefing to patients with functional movement disorders to improve adherence to and success from treatment approaches
