MDS-ES Fellowship Program
The MDS-ES Movement Disorders European Fellowship Program awards three Movement Disorders European Fellowship Programme (3) grants of €1,500 plus travel expenses up to €300 for applicants to visit a European Movement Disorders centre. Note: Travel will usually be paid after receipt of the final fellowship report, but a payment schedule may be agreed on an individual basis.
The purpose of this award is to support accommodation and living expenses for six weeks.
Eligibility: Candidates from the following countries are eligible to apply:
Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Egypt, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Ukraine. Applications from sub-Saharan Africa can be considered.
Applicants must be under the age of 40, or less than five years since the award of their final medical qualification. They must be Board Certified Neurologists or in training for Board Certification. Priority will be given to applicants who wish to specialize in Movement Disorders, or to increase the knowledge of Movement Disorders for those who will remain in general neurological practice. They must be fluent in English or in the local language of the country to be visited. Awardees from previous years will not be eligible to reapply. Membership of MDS is desirable but is not essential. If an awardee is not a member of the Society, the fellow will receive a complementary one year membership and information about the waived dues program.
It is the responsibility of the applicant to verify that they are eligible to enter the nominated country in order to take up the Fellowship, and to provide all necessary documentation to the host institution in order that honorary or observer contracts can be issued prior to the Fellowship. MDS-ES cannot assist with visa applications.
