About The Society

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) is a professional society of clinicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals who are interested in some of the most challenging diseases to diagnose and treat: movement disorders.

Our field addresses particularly complex movement-affecting disorders that do not fall into other established categories. Movement disorders include Parkinson's disease, related neurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental disorders, hyperkinetic movement disorders, and abnormalities in muscle tone and motor control.

The assistance of our members, who work tirelessly to help further the Society's mission, enables MDS to educate and inform others around the world about the latest news, research, and advances in this complex and vital specialty.
