Training Materials for Clinical Outcome Assessments

Certificate Programs
The Training & Certificate Programs for MDS scales include an examination, which will grant you a Certificate of Completion once you earn a passing score. Case exercises are also included to test your ability to administer the scales.
MDS-UPDRS: MDS-Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale Certificate Program
Certificate program or video-only training
Covers the four parts of the scale with visual and verbal instructions for uniform application, and a full patient examination for Part III (motor examination).
The scoring portion of the MDS-UPDRS exam is available in multiple languages.
UDysRS: Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale Certificate Program

Learn to administer this scale that captures the essential features of dyskinesia in Parkinson’s disease.
MDS-NMS: MDS Non-Motor Rating Scale Certificate Program
Certificate program
Learn to use of the MDS-NMS at the scale, subscale, domain, and symptom level, including case exercises to test your ability to administer the scale.

This teaching program provides guidelines and rating examples of the Unified Dyskinesia Rating Scale, a new scale used for evaluating Parkinson's disease.

Motor Section (Part III)

This video provides suggestions on the application and interview techniques for Part II of the UPDRS with patient examples and guidelines for raters.

Guidelines and rating examples of the RDRS, a scale widely used for evaluating dyskinesias in Parkinson's disease.

TWSTRS:
Toronto-Western Spasmodic Torticollis Rating Scale Training
This training video demonstrates the 10 categories in the TWSTRS scale, with verbal and visual examples of scoring in each category.

Training on Motor Fluctuation Diaries in Parkinson's Disease
This instructional video demonstrates the 3 states of Parkinson's disease — off, on, and on with dyskinesia — with the intent to assist patients in the completion of their motor fluctuation diaries.
