Industry Education

MDS Industry Education Courses utilize the extensive scientific knowledge of MDS experts to provide industry professionals with instruction and insight regarding topics of significance in the field of movement disorders. These courses aim to support improved patient care and advance the neurological sciences pertaining to movement disorders.

MDS offers two types of Industry Education Courses:

Congress Industry Course (The Parkinson's Disease Educational Course for Industry Professionals)

This course is designed to familiarize pharmaceutical and medical device professionals with the diagnosis, treatment, and unmet needs of patients with Parkinson's disease. Attendees from multiple companies and organizations receive basic knowledge from a diagnostic and therapeutic perspective, empowering them to better understand the challenges of this disorder and its treatment. Courses are facilitated by MDS member experts, and are offered at International or Regional Congresses and other MDS events.

  • Access the latest scientific information and scholarly research regarding issues facing patients and physicians
  • Learn from and engage with experienced MDS faculty with expertise in clinical and research settings

Tailored Industry Courses

In these courses, MDS works at the request of an industry partner to deliver an immersive educational program designed to educate a company’s employees in subject areas defined by and relevant to their specific needs or interests. Requesting parties provide MDS with goals and objectives for the course, and MDS develops a curriculum, selects faculty, and facilitates the program at a venue selected by the requesting company.

  • Experience education relevant to the disease(s) of interest including differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, and treatment as well as discussion related to your drug, product, device, clinical trial or other priority as agreed upon
  • Hear patient and caregiver perspectives (where available)
  • Learn from and engage with experienced MDS faculty with expertise in clinical and research settings

Expert Panels

MDS Expert Panels leverage the knowledge and stature of MDS leaders to provide critical insight, review and brainstorming. To do this, the Society convenes panels of subject matter experts to discuss movement disorder topics of significance chosen by industry, foundation or government partners. Requesting parties provide MDS with objectives for a 90-minute panel session; based on these, MDS generates a list of recommended experts from which the requesting party may select 2-5 panel participants whose expertise aligns with the stated objectives, and whose attendance at the contemplated meeting venue is anticipated.

  • Panelists removed from your company or organization provide straightforward, impartial insights
  • Expert Panels are a useful secondary sounding board, complementing advisory board efforts
  • Access the most highly respected, sought-after experts on topics related to Parkinson’s and movement disorders
  • The MDS Secretariat plans and facilitates Panels where experts are already convened
