Field leader earns “Dutch Nobel Prize,” the €2.5 million Stevin Award

Movement disorders specialist Prof. Bas Bloem was awarded the €2.5 million Stevin Award, the highest scientific honor in the Netherlands, and often referred to as the “Dutch Nobel Prize.”  

He discusses how his innovations, focus on preventative interventions for Parkinson’s, and collaborative partnerships with patients contributed to this honor — and his plans to use the funds to take a risk on a first-of-its-kind research venture.
