Highlights: 2022 PAS Congress


The 4th Pan American Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Congress — the first in-person event for MDS since the global pandemic began — was in Miami, Florida, USA on May 26-28, 2022.

It was a welcomed event that provided the in-person component that all have been patiently waiting for. The sight of large group, small group and one-on-one conversations was a delight to see. 

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society - Pan American Section extends its gratitude to faculty, supporters, exhibitors and delegates for traveling to Miami and helping make the 4th Pan American Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Congress a successful meeting.

Welcome Ceremony

On Thursday night, delegates were formally greeted by MDS President Francisco Cardoso, MDS-PAS Chair Susan Fox, and by PAS CSPC Chair Oksana Suchowersky, at the Welcome Ceremony.

 

The Society would especially like to recognize the 2022 PAS Congress Scientific Program Committee, who were instrumental in making the program a success: Tomoko Arakaki, Helen Bronte-Stewart, Francisco Cardoso, Cynthia Comella, Susan Fox, Steven Frucht, Ziv Gan-Or, Nelida Garretto, Lorraine Kalia, Ricardo Lopez-Contreras, Tiago Mestre, Sarah Pirio-Richardson and Vitor Tumas. And also recognize and thank the 60 faculty members who participated in the Scientific Sessions.
 

The Section is pleased to share that the 5th Pan American Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Congress will be held in Latin America, date and location are in discussion. Please visit the PAS website in the coming months for more information.
