Quantitative Measurements of α-Synuclein Seeds in Cerebrospinal Fluid Inform Diagnosis and Staging of Synucleinopathies

How can biological assays for diagnosis of α-synucleinopathies be improved? This study led by Dr. Omar El-Agnaf introduced a seeding amplification immunoassay (SAIA) that adds a quantitative measurement transferable to the clinical setting. This highlighted research was presented during the 2024 International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders (mdscongress.org). Authors: O. El-Agnaf
