Social-savvy experts take over MDS Instagram for #MDSCongress

During the 2024 International Congress, MDS invited leaders in the field (and on social media) to take over the Society Instagram.

Five world-renowned experts in movement disorders shared their insights Mayela Rodriguez-Violante, Bas Bloem, Michael Okun, Mariana Moscovich, and Yasser Mecheri. Over the course of this event, they engaged audiences with 49 videos, 16 photos, and 136 stories, leading to an impressive 4,157 likes and a staggering 24,552 accounts reached — up by 295%!

The engagement from the takeover had more than 5x the reach of the page’s normal content, and also attracted more than 400 new followers. Throughout the takeover, they asked thought-provoking questions such as how many cases participants could accurately identify in the popular Video Challenge event, what makes working in the field of movement disorders so captivating, and who their mentors are. The takeover leaders also shared their favorite highlights from the Congress sessions and sparked a lot of exciting discussions!
