VOLUME 29, ISSUE 4 • DECEMBER 2025.

On November 29, 2025, we asked:
What moves you? From science to care to advocacy — share your story and passion for movement disorder awareness with #MoveDisorder.
2025's World Movement Disorders Day theme was a call to action for the patient and caregiver community, advocacy groups, clinicians, and the public to reflect on what inspires them to advance awareness, care, and research for movement disorders.
The 4th annual event reached 3.3 million people around the world through social media and news coverage.
World Movement Disorders Day amplifies visibility of these neurological diseases that are especially difficult to diagnose, treat, and understand. By uniting our efforts, we can raise awareness, inspire understanding, and support people living with these conditions.
Dozens of MDS members shared what moves them to do this work — and the overwheliming answer was clear: They love this field because they have a passion for supporting the people who live with these disorders. They enjoy building relationships with patients or investigating important aspects of the disease, which they believe can make a major impact on people's day-to-day lives.
People from across the movmement disorders community joined the conversation across social media:
Today is World Movement Disorders Day! And @movedisorder.bsky.social would like to know: what moves you to advocate for this community? #MoveDisorder
