Mission and Goals
The Social Media Ambassador Program will help further the MDS mission of encouraging interest and participation in MDS activities and meetings, as well as sharing ideas that advance the related clinical and scientific disciplines.
Social Media Ambassadors will be responsible for helping to promote the MDS Regional or International Congress prior to the meeting, as well as helping generate interest and engagement onsite. While the tasks requested can be done remotely, there will be an opportunity to meet one another onsite.
Please familiarize yourself with the MDS Social Media Policy if you are interested in volunteering.
Please note photography is not permitted in any of the scientific and/or educational sessions.
The hashtag for the International Congress is #MDSCongresss; the hashtag for the PAS Congress is #PASCongress; and the hashtag for the AOPMC is #AOPMC. Please include this hashtag in all related postings.
MDS social media accounts can be found here: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, LinkedIn Company Page, and it is encouraged that you tag these accounts when possible.
Examples of social media posts include:
- The MDS Video Challenge is on Monday, October 8. Who else will be there?! #MDSCongress
- Excellent #MDSCongress presentation titled "Lessons From My Patients". We can all learn from each other.
Testimonials from Social Media Ambassadors at the 2017 International Congress
“Honored to help the MDS as a fellow. It was also a great way to get to know other MDS members who are active in social media.”
“I liked to document through pictures all relevant aspects of the event and sharing them with other delegates. Also I liked to feel useful offering my support to the Congress.”
"I liked the encouragement to post about the Congress and the feedback from the Society about our posts"
Please email MDS Communications Manager, Rebecca Tripp, if you would like to volunteer.
Please note this is a volunteer position. Ambassadors will receive an MDS merchandise item as a token of appreciation.
