Committee Purpose

The Communications Oversight Committee is responsible for the ​strategic oversight, harmonization, and coordination of internal and external communications, ​to support MDS in advancing its mission to disseminate knowledge, advance research and serve as a global voice in the field of Movement Disorders.

Mandate and Priorities

  • Design and implement systematic processes to align and streamline communication output of the Society to enhance efficiency, accuracy and consistency of output production.​
  • Oversee and coordinate MDS communication channels and editorial boards (i.e. Website, Social Media, Podcast, and Moving Along).​
  • Provide recommendations for effective communication between the various sections, committees and working groups in MDS, and between MDS and external groups (e.g. affiliate societies, partner organizations, industries, non-governmental organizations, and the public).​
  • Identify opportunities and coordinate efforts to promote MDS and awareness of Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders including commemoration of World Parkinson’s Day and World Movement Disorders Day. ​
