Committee Purpose
The purpose and primary responsibility of the MDS Rating Scales Executive Committee is to oversee the functions of the MDS Rating Scale Program under the direction of the Program Chairs. The functions of the committee are to:

  • Define and uphold the MDS Rating Scales Program policies and procedures
  • Oversee and monitor all other committees within the program
  • Recommend new scales for development and acquisition to serve the needs for high quality clinical studies and patient care
  • Define the scientific approach for developing new rating scales, approve new rating scale study protocols, and monitor the progress of scale development
  • Advise on concepts of measurement, clinimetrics, electronic implementation, and application of MDS-owned and managed scales
  • Provide recommendations on financial aspects of the program
  • Oversee Rating Scale Program marketing efforts and member engagement
  • Recommend new committees or task forces for the program
