Committee Purpose
The primary function of the Rating Scales Education and Training Program Committee will be to:

  • Identify and prioritize the need for educational and training requirements for MDS-owned scales
  • Maintain online and in-person training and certificate programs for MDS-owned rating scales by providing comprehensive reviews of existing training programs and providing recommendations for revisions
  • Provide recommendations for the development of new educational and training programs for MDS-owned rating scales
  • Establish standards for rating scales educational and training programs
  • Promote the use of rating scales training programs

MDS-UPDRS & UDysRS Online Training Programs
The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society has established a Training Program & Exercise for use of two separate rating scales.

These programs allow participants to learn about the use of each scale, see examples of a rater administering the test to patients, and to view examples of the rating items. There is an exercise at the end of each training program. Click on the links below to access these training programs:
