Sharing success: Awardee offers advice to young neurologists
Dr. Irene Litvan discusses her 30 years of contributions to the field and Society, as well as using her experiences to mentor young women.
Dr. Irene Litvan was a recipient of the prestigious MDS Honorary Membership Award, granted to those who have made extraordinary contributions to the field of Movement Disorders.
For more than 30 years, she has led and participated in several multicenter studies or international Task Forces to develop clinical and neuropathologic diagnostic criteria for all parkinsonian and/or dementia neurodegenerative disorders (PSP, CBD, MSA DLB, PD, PD-MCI, PDD, Prodromal PD), diagnostic biomarkers research, symptomatic and biologic therapeutic trials, and epidemiologic, genetic and clinicopathologic correlation studies. Dr. Litvan is ranked in the top 1% of most cited scientific investigators.
In this interview, she discusses her 30 years of contributions to the field and Society, and advice for today’s young neurologists.
