Applications for the 2022-2023 program have closed.

The MDS-AOS Train the Trainer Pilot Program uses the Train the Trainer Education model, wherein MDS provides curriculum, resources, training and support to regionally identified trainers, who in turn utilize these materials to prepare and implement training programs for allied health professionals in their local languages and organizations.  Support will be provided to all selected applicants.
 

This pilot program will occur over the course of 10 months (August 2022 – June 2023) and will require participation of selected applicants for the entire duration. 
 


Who Should Apply

MDS members who reside in the MDS-Asian and Oceanian Section and have:

  • Experience working with patients in a clinical setting that are or work with allied health professionals on a consistent basis.  
  • A dedication to teaching and training foundational principles of healthcare professionals. 
  • Proficiency in both English and the local language 


Pilot Timeline and Activities

The MDS-AOS Train the Trainer Pilot Program occurs from August 2022 - June 2023, and includes the following components: 
 

August 2022 - December 2022
Trainer Education Program
MDS Expert Faculty provide Trainers foundational movement disorders education, and introduce an overview of what to teach and how to train colleagues. Program curriculum will support Trainers to prepare their local training program development and implementation. 

Trainer education will incorporate a variety of educational formats including:  

  • Online education modules and lectures for on-demand viewing 
  • Webinar with interactive discussion 
  • In person training course (Dates and Location to be confirmed)  
  • Interactive assessment quizzes  
     

January 2023 - June 2023
Local Training Program Development and Implementation
Trainers apply learnings from the Trainer Education Program to present local training programs at their local institutions or appropriate national society event. These trainings may be presented in the local language. Trainers are responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the local training programs. Expert faculty will continue to assist in an advisory capacity.  
 

By June 2023
Trainer Reporting and Evaluation
Trainers provide written report of local training event using the provided evaluation and reporting templates. MDS Program Faculty and Trainers participate in virtual discussion of program evaluation at the conclusion of the program. 


Applications

Applications for the 2022-2023 program have closed. They will not reopen until the completion of the current program.
