Train the Trainer Program - European Section
Physiotherapists: Gain tools and resources to lead education programs for peers in your region.

Learn to educate other physiotherapists in Europe to work with movement disorders patients. Over 11 months, MDS will provide curriculum, resources, training, and support in English, so you can then lead trainings for your peers in their local languages and organizations.
Trainers will learn not only specialized physiotherapy techniques to support movement disorders, but also the best methods to organize education programs, including teaching strategies and program evaluation.
Who Should Apply
MDS members who reside in the MDS-European Section and:
- Are Physiotherapists
- Have experience working with patients in a clinical setting
- Are dedicated to teaching and training foundational principles of healthcare professionals.
- Are Proficient in both English and their local language.
The 11-month program will include virtual activities and one in-person component from September 2024 - July 2025. Selected trainers are required to participate in the entire duration of the program

Trainer Education Program
MDS expert faculty will provide foundational movement disorders and physiotherapy education, and introduce an overview of what to teach and how to train colleagues. Program curriculum will support trainers to prepare their local training program development and implementation.
Trainer education will incorporate a variety of online educational formats including:
- Online education modules and lectures for on-demand viewing
- Online Quizzes to assess comprehension of on-demand content
- Zoom calls with interactive discussion
The Trainer Education Program with conclude with an in-person interactive training course. Training course will take place in Innsbruck, Austria in early December 2024. Dates will be posted once confirmed.
January – July 2025
Local Training Program Development and Implementation
Trainers apply what they've learned from the Trainer Education Program to present local training programs at their local institutions or appropriate national society event. These trainings may be presented in the local language. Trainers are responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of the local training programs. Expert faculty will continue to assist in an advisory capacity.
IMPORTANT: MDS does not provide funding for local training programs.

Trainer Reporting and Evaluation
Trainers provide written report of local training event using the provided evaluation and reporting templates.
